Toolbox allows users to perform many photo manipulation tasks & it is very important in any photo editing software. In GIMP, there are 33 tool icons in the toolbox. However, we are unlikely to use some of the tools for photo manipulation.

Selection Tools

We use these tools to select portion of the photos for subsequent manipulations. Know how to use these tools effectively will save you a lot of time.

Transformation Tools

In GIMP there are eight transformation tools for you to modify the presentation of the photos. As far as photo editing is concern, we use transformation tools mostly for photo crop, rotation & lens correction.

Painting & Healing Tools

In fact, we do not paint our photos directly. However, we use the painting tools to paint on the Layer Masks. Layer mask is important in photo manipulation. Healing tools (Healing Tool & ) are excellent for correcting spot & dust on your photos. Also, Clone Tool is used to remove unwanted object.
